Overholt takes triple crown series at Merrittville Speedway

Special to Bullet News

A late-race incident in the 20-lap four-cylinder triple crown series final saw Rob Overholt declared the race winner after Rocco Conte made contact with Aaron Wiley. Going into the night as the point leader with any of the top 5 in the Mini Series able to take home the title, Overholt also won the 2011 series.

Mark D’Ilario won the 35-lap 358 modified feature run in memory of the late Ray Stevens while Brad Rouse won for the second straight time in the sportsman division.

Jim Lampman made a return to Victory Lane after winning the 20-lap stock feature – his first win in some 20 years after rejoining the division this season.

Rounding out the feature winners was Josh Sliter in the modified lite division.
