Niagara’s largest ever cocaine bust – watch video from today’s police press conference

NIAGARA – Two Niagara Falls men charged in connection with what police are calling the largest cocaine seizure ever in Niagara will return to court next week.

Frank Alessio, 32, and Angelo Alessio, 34 are charged with possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking.

The men, who police say are brothers, made a brief court appearance Tuesday. Their next court date is Feb. 23.

On Monday, Niagara Regional Police announced they had seized 110 kilograms of cocaine – worth an estimated $30 million – during a raid Friday at a residence located at 110 Davidson St., Unit 3, in St. Catharines.

Police also executed search warrants at three other properties in St. Catharines in connection with the ongoing investigation.

Few additional details were made public. Police have scheduled a press conference for Wednesday at NRP headquarters to talk about the investigation and the discovery.
