St. Catharines sub shop robbed at gunpoint

ST. CATHARINES – A St. Catharines sub shop was robbed at gunpoint just after midnight Monday.

The incident happened at the Subway restaurant, located at Geneva Square.

Niagara Regional Police say the lone male suspect, armed with a handgun, approached the male employee and demanded the contents of the cash register.

The suspect then fled on foot with an undisclosed sum of cash.

The employee was not injured during the robbery.

He is described as a white male, wearing black pants, black shoes and a blue jacket with a hood. He was wearing a “stocking-type” mask over his face, police say.
