Two young girls allegedly sexually assaulted at Thorold pool

THOROLD – A 52-year-old Welland man is facing criminal charges following an investigation into the alleged sexual assault of two young girls at a public swimming pool.

Police say the alleged incident happened Friday at the Thorold Outdoor Aquatic Centre, located at 111 Richmond St.



The alleged victims are 11 and 12 years old, police say.

On Sunday, Niagara Regional Police arrested a 52-year-old Welland man.

He is charged with two counts of sexual assault and two counts of sexual interference.

The accused was scheduled to appear in St. Catharines court on Monday to answer to the charges.
