ST. CATHARINES: Pools at Kiwanis Aquatics Centre to close four days next month for fix ventilation system

ST. CATHARINES – The pools at the St. Catharines Kiwanis Aquatics Centre will close for four days in December to allow the contractor to complete work on the facility’s air handling unit.

Bondfield Construction will complete the scheduled work and fine tune the unit, correcting deficiencies noted since the new facility opened in July.

The closure takes place from Tuesday, Dec. 4 until Friday, Dec. 7.

There are no swimming lessons scheduled during the closure and all public swims and drop in programs are cancelled. Also, the pools will be unavailable for rentals while the work is being completed. Pool rentals already booked during this week will be rescheduled.

The pools re-open on Saturday, Dec. 8.

Regular winter programming resumes Monday, Dec. 10.

Online registration for winter programs opens Dec. 4.

The St. Catharines Kiwanis Aquatics Centre will be open for walk-in registration, which begins Dec. 6.

The library is not affected by the closing of the pools and will operate under regular business hours during this time.
