ST. CATHARINES – Two people were arrested following a police raid on a residence in St. Catharines.
The raid took place Thursday around 7:30 p.m.
Niagara Regional Police executed a search warrant at an undisclosed address on Albert Street, based on information obtained during an investigation that began in October.
Inside the home, police seized a small amount of heroin and marijuana and a large quantity of prescription pills and cash.
In total, the drugs seized are valued at $3,835. The cash seized amounted to $6,955.
Charged with five counts of possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking and one count of possession of proceeds of crime are 49-year-old Gordon Larocque and 44-year-old Lisa Smith.
Larocque was held in custody pending a bail hearing while Smith was released from custody on an Officer-in-Charge undertaking. She will return to court in late December to answer to the charges.
