PELHAM – A Fenwick youth has been charged with mischief following an incident at a local school this past weekend.

The incident happened Sunday around 4:44 p.m.

Niagara Regional Police say a security camera at E.W. Farr elementary school recorded a youth on school property setting a small fire.

The fire burned itself out, but not before causing an estimated $1,000 damage.

The following day when the damage was discovered an investigation was launched and a suspect identified.

The youth, who cannot be charged due to the provisions of the Youth Criminal Justice Act, is charged with mischief under $5,000.
