ST. CATHARINES – The City of St. Catharines is on the hunt for yet another new senior staff member.

On Wednesday afternoon, city officials announced that Sandra Lawson, director of Transportation and Environmental Services (TES), was no longer employed by the City of St. Catharines. City CAO Colin Briggs said he was not at liberty to discuss any of the details surrounding her departure.

“It’s a personnel matter,” he said Wednesday afternoon, adding Tuesday was Lawson’s final day with the city.

Lawson had been with the city for less than a year, starting on January 3, 2012 after the retirement of Paul Mustard. The job rate the city was paying the director, said Briggs, was $149,737.

Dan Dillon, assistant director of TES, has been appointed acting director of the department until a replacement is hired.

“We started recruitment and hope to have a replacement some time in the new year,” said Briggs.

Briggs said more change is to come in the days ahead. During a closed session at city council on Monday night, he said they approved some operational changes. The changes, he said, are reorganizing of departments and provide some “streamlining.” An official announcement is expected in the coming days, he said.
