FORT ERIE – An elderly man is in serious but stable condition in hospital after he was struck by a car while crossing the road in Stevensville.
Now, Niagara Regional Police are seeking a hit-and-run driver wanted in connection with the accident, which happened around 6:13 p.m. Friday.
Investigators say the victim was attempting to cross from the east sidewalk of Stevensville Road to the west sidewalk on the north side of the intersection.
He was in the intersection when he was struck by a vehicle being driving northbound on Stevensville Road.
The victim was transported to Greater Niagara General hospital.
The driver of the vehicle is believed to be a young Caucasian woman, police say.
The vehicle was a dark grey or blue, older mid-sized, four-door sedan, possibly a Chevrolet or Pontiac model year 2000, with tail lights across the back.
The vehicle may have front end damage on the driver’s side.
This collision remains under investigation.
