ST. CATHARINES – An 87-year-old man critically injured in a three-car accident last week has died.
Niagara Regional Police said Monday the man, whose name has not been released, died of his injuries on Saturday.
The accident happened Friday around 2:35 p.m.
Investigators say the victim, whose name has not been released, was travelling westbound on Scott Street at Vine Street in his 2006 Cadillac.
The Cadillac entered the intersection against the red light and collided with the front left side of a southbound 2000 Pontiac Sunfire, which had been attempting to make a left turn onto Scott Street.
The Cadillac then “reversed suddenly” and collided with a 2007 GMC Acadia that was stopped facing west on Scott Street waiting at the red light.
The drivers and passengers of the other two vehicles were not injured, police say.
