NEWS NOW: Family escapes burning home, treated for smoke inhalation

A family of four managed to escape their burning St. Catharines home, early Wednesday.

Fire broke out inside the Densgrove Drive residence around midnight.



St. Catharines firefighters arrived at the scene to find the home fully engulfed in flame.

The four occupants had managed to exited the building on their own prior to the arrival of emergency crews, Niagara Regional Police say.

They were taken to hospital for treatment of smoke inhalation.

The cause of the fire is undeter,mined at this point and remains under investigation by the St. Catharines Fire Department and the Ontario Fire Marshal’s Office.

Damage is estimated to be in excess of $100,000.
