Niagara This Week
The latest album by Niagara Falls native deadmau5 has been nominated for a Grammy Award.
The album, album title goes here, has been nominated for Best Dance/Electonica Album. It is the fifth time deadmau5, aka Joel Zimmerman has been nominated for a Grammy. He has yet to win.
Released last September, album title goes here debuted at No. 1 on SoundScan’s Electronic Album chart and No. 2 SoundScan’s Digital Album chart it also debuted at No. 2 on Billboard Top Albums in Canada. In the U.S. the album debuted at No. 6 on the Billboard Top 200, at No. 1 on the Dance/Electronic Album chart, No. 2 Independent Album chart, and No. 5 on the Digital Albums chart.
The album features singles “Professional Griefers” with Gerard Way of My Chemical Romance and the platinum selling “The Veldt,” a hypnotic homage to Ray Bradbury featuring vocalist Chris James. Tommy Trash’s remix of “The Veldt” is also nominated at the Grammy Awards for Best Remixed Recording, Non-Classical.
Zimmerman will be returning to Niagara Falls Dec. 31 as the headline act for the second annual Golden New Year’s Eve show at the Scotiabank Convention Centre.
