LONDON – The Niagara IceDogs fell to the London Knights 5-2 Friday night.
The Dogs trailed 2-0 after the first period. Shots after 20 minutes favoured London 14-10.
The second period saw the teams exchange chances, but London starter Jake Patterson and IceDogs starter Chris Festarini were solid. London finally struck with 5:32 left to make it 3-0. Brett Ritchie got Niagara on he board before the intermission.
London stretched the lead to 4-1 early in the third before Ritchie answered right back for the IceDogs to make it a 4-2 game. London added an empty netter to make it a 5-2 final. Final shots favoured the IceDogs 36-35.
The IceDogs return to action next Thursday night when they host the visiting Erie Otters.
