CRIME: St. Catharines sub shop robbed at gunpoint

ST. CATHARINES – Niagara Regional Police are searching for a male suspect who robbed a St. Catharines sub shop at gunpoint, Tuesday evening.

The incident happened around 9:20 p.m. at the Subway, located at 101 Lakeport Rd.



Police say the lone employee was confronted by the suspect, weho was armed with a handgun.

The suspect demanded money and fled the store with a quantity of cash prior to police arriving.

The area was checked with the assistance of canine unit, however, the suspect was not located.

The employee was not injured as a result of this incident.

The suspect is described as white, 19-20 years old, slim build, wearing dark clothing and a bandana.

Anyone with information regarding this incident is being urged to call the 1 District Detective Office at 905-688-4111, ext. 4348.
