Niagara Regional Police have identified the victim of a fatal traffic accident in St. Catharines this past weekend.
A 59-year-old Joseph Kazlauskas, of St. Catharines, was struck and killed by a car Saturday evening near an entrance to the QEW.
The accident happened around 8:15 p.m.
Kazlauskas was hit at the QEW and Dunkirk Road by a Pontiac Grand Am attempting to get on the highway.
He was pronounced dead at the scene while the 35-year-old man driving was not injured.
The family of the victim has requested their privacy be respected at this time, police said Tuesday.
The incident remains under investigation by detectives of the Niagara Regional Police Service’s – collision reconstruction unit.
