Police make arrest in connection with St. Catharines stabbing

ST. CATHARINES – Niagara police have made an arrest into a stabbing the occurred in downtown St. Catharines last week.

At around 3 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 12, police were called to the hospital for a man with stab wounds. The victim told police he was involved in an alteration with two unknown males in the area of York Street and Welland Avenue.



During the altercation, one suspect pulled a knife and stabbed the victim in the neck and abdomen. Police say both wounds were superficial cuts that required minor treatment.

After an investigation, police arrested a 29-year-old St. Catharines man in relation to the stabbing.

Charged with one count of assault with a weapon and one count of failing to comply with a probation order is Kevan Healey.
