Oh, crap – false alarm sends bomb squad to Port Colborne post office

Bullet News

A suspicious package call that sent the bomb squad to the Port Colborne post office turned out to be a false alarm.

The Niagara Regional Police explosives disposal unit was sent to the post office Thursday after a call came in at 10:26 a.m.

A post office employee said a package was suspicious.

At around 1:20 p.m., police deemed the package safe. It has been sent to Welland for further investigation.

“Although not certain of package contents, we suspect it is feces,” NRP media officer Derek Watson said in a message on Twitter.
