Nik Wallenda is back at it – this time performing for a hometown crowd.

Today at 11 a.m., he’s scheduled to wirewalk a cable stretched across U.S. Highway 41 in Sarasota, Fla.

The wire is elevated about 200 feet in the air.

The Sarasota City Commission last week approved the walk, which will see Wallenda walk without a tether.

Wallenda, much to his dismay, was required to wear a safety harness when he made his historic Niagara Falls wirewalk last June.

The event is expected to last about an hour.

Wallenda is hoping to wirewalk the Grand Canyon this summer.
