Today in Niagara-on-the-Lake, the first ever One Billion Rising event was held that brought in close to 100 participants to dance as part of a larger global rise to action known as V-Day.
The movement is meant to draw awareness and to help end violence against women and girls.
Participants in Thursday’s event did “striking rising” dance movements led by NIA fitness. Funds were raised for Gillian’s Place.
