Adam West is coming to Comic Con this summer in Niagara Falls.
From his humble beginning on a wheat ranch in Walla Walla, Wash., West skyrocketed to fame in Hollywood, pursuing an extraordinary career in entertainment that has spanned half a century. His role as Batman in the classic television series and feature of the same name continues to be seen throughout the world more than 40 years after its debut. While Batman, and his alter ego, Bruce Wayne, remains his signature role, West has a multitude of motion picture, theater, and TV credits to his name.
“The response for Burt Ward (Robin) at last year’s Comic Con exceeded our expectations and fans were super excited, so we figured the most natural progression would be to bring in the other half of the dynamic duo,” said Chris Dabrowski, co-owner of NFCC. “Fans of the classic movie and TV series will be given the five-star “Bat” treatment at the Comic Con, and will have an opportunity to even get their picture taken inside the Batcopter with the original Batman himself. This is definitely a first for Niagara Falls.”
West has made nearly 50 movies throughout his career and has also lent his voice to animated characters in such well-known series as Family Guy, The Simpsons, Rugrats, Batman, Animaniacs, Johnny Bravo, Spydogs, The Super Adventure Team, and many others. His voice-over work in animated film includes the roles of “Ace, Hollywood Chicken Little” in Disney’s Chicken Little, and “Uncle Art” in Disney’s Meet the Robinsons. In 2000, he also contributed the voice of “Leonard Fox” to the animated short, Redux Riding Hood, which went on to win an Academy Award nomination.
“The goal for this year’s Niagara Falls Comic Con is to provide fans with something new and unique, and with the addition of Adam West to our celebrity line up, along Meriwether, the Batmobile and the Original Batcopter, I think we’ve accomplished that goal,” Dabrowski added.
West will be in attendance during both days of Niagara Falls Comic Con which takes place June 8-9 at the Scotiabank Convention Centre. The event will feature more than 50,000 square feet of exhibitors, artists, celebrities, free movie screenings, memorabilia, a replica of the Batmobile and more.
