POLICE: Niagara Falls man charged with arson following fire outside a Lundy’s lane hotel

NIAGARA FALLS – A 36-year-old Niagara Falls man has been charged with arson following a fire outside a Lundy’s Lane motel room police allege was deliberately set.

The incident happened Friday around 6:30 a.m.



Niagara Regional Police say they were called to the unnamed motel after receiving a report that a fire had been discovered outside one of the building’s doors.

The fire had been extinguished by occupants of the room prior to the arrival of police.

Damage is estimated at $2,000.

Charged with arson endangering life and failure to comply with an undertaking is John Kovacs.

The accused was held in custody pending a bail hearing Saturday in St. Catharines court.
