Are there any advantages in growing your Bedding Plants from Seed?
I don’t know about you but I love to go to Stokes each year to muddle through all the different packages of seeds. I get a real charge out of this hobby. Growing vegetable plants and flowers from seed, is a great, but a costly hobby.
You not only must have a dedicated space, with proper lighting, you must be willing to set aside the time to babysit and nourish your plants. When starting your plants from seed, in late February, you can get an early, spring transplanting start. To get started with planting, purchase your seeds, and buy the appropriate pots. Fiber pots are your best choice. Then you have to purchase the right type of soil for different plants. Proper light, soil & water are your ingredients for success.
You too can have the best tomatoes and flowers, and get great satisfaction and pride from growing your own plants from seed.
