CRIME: Police find nearly $13,000 in cash during drug investigation

WELLAND – Niagara Regional Police say they seized $1,200 worth of cocaine and nearly $13,000 in cash during a search of a Denistoun Street apartment, Thursday.

Niagara Regional Police executed the search warrant based on information obtained during an investigation that began earlier in the year.

Damean Trotman, a 28 year old resident of Barbados, and Emily Heise, 29, of Welland, are charged with possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking and possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime over $5,000.

Both Trotman and Heise were held in custody pending a bail hearing today.
