WELLAND – The Niagara Health Coalition is planning a rally for this afternoon protesting provincial cuts to hospital services.

The event will be held Monday, March 4, at 2:30 p.m. at the Welland Arena, which is located at 501 King St.

It’s part of a “day of action” by the Ontario Health Coalition involving 20 communities across the province, aimed at highlighting “unprecedented hospital cuts and privatization across the province.”

Speakers at the rally include Welland Mayor Barry Sharp, Niagara Falls city councillor Wayne Gates, Frank Campion, chairman of the City of Welland Health Committee, Cindy Forster, MPP Welland, and Sue Hotte, of the Niagara Health Coalition.
