NIAGARA FALLS – The Niagara Food & Wine Expo is returning once again to the Scotiabank Convention Centre for another unforgettable weekend of food and drink.
The Niagara Food & Wine Expo is Niagara’s premier international tasting event featuring wines, beers and spirits from around the globe and stunning regional wines direct from neighbouring vineyards.
The event runs from April 26-28 at the Scotiabank Convention Centre in Niagara Falls, Ont. Delectable samples will be served alongside fresh, local cuisine prepared by top area restaurants.
“For about $20 you can come out to the Niagara Food & Wine Expo and have a great time tasting the various restaurant offerings and wine, beer and spirits available,” said Jennifer Campbell, show manager of the Niagara Food & Wine Expo.
“This year, many of our exhibitors have priced their samples at just one or two tickets, making it easy and affordable to have a nice evening or afternoon out at the Expo with friends.”
New this year will be the Celebrity Live Auction on Saturday, April 27 at 5 p.m. Hosted by world-renowned guest speaker Kevin Brauch, known as The Thirsty Traveler and floor reporter on Iron Chef America, the live auction will support the Breast Cancer Society.
Guests will have the opportunity to bid on a fabulous 90-minute tour of the Niagara Food & Wine Expo, hosted by winemakers and industry experts. Lucky winners will get a personal tour with either TV personality Kevin Brauch, wine expert, Christopher Waters, Hernder Estates winemaker Lydia Tomek or Megalomaniac Wines winemaker Sue-Ann Staff.
While known for hosting amazing restaurants and wineries, this year’s Expo will also have multiple breweries pouring a wide array of exotic and craft beers.
From local Niagara-on-the-Lake microbrewery Silversmith Brewing Company to Northern Ontario’s Lake of Bays Brewing Co. to imports such as Delirium Tremens, Fruli, St. Bernardus and Kronenbourg 1664 Blanc, the beer lover will have plenty to try.
“With dozens of different beers, as well as wineries and spirit makers, the Expo is going to be a great time for anyone who enjoys a good drink,” said Brauch.
“I’m really excited about how many different options are available at the Expo this year. For people like me, this is such a great event because it has everything I love under one roof,”
Mott’s Clamato will also be returning with their all-Canadian Caesars. They will be serving up their perfect Caesars for just one sample ticket $1 each.
Food lovers won’t miss out, either, with local restaurants such as Copacabana, Ivy Bar & Kitchen, Rockway Vineyards, Red Canoe Bistro, Terrapin Grille and many more on hand. Gourmet food from Eudora’s Fine Foods, Nighs Sweet Shop, Starsky Fine Foods and more will also be found at this year’s Expo.
“We really looked at how we can celebrate the local food, wine, beer and spirits while still offering amazing international options, and we think that this year we have the perfect balance of everything that everyone could possibly want.” said Campbell.
