NIAGARA FALLS – A 26-year-old man seriously injured when the car he was driving struck a maple tree along the Niagara Parkway in February has been charged with careless driving.
The incident happened Feb. 24 around 10:50 p.m. near the intersection with Sherk Road.
The car, a 1999 White Mercury Grand Marquis, was heavily damaged.
The driver was taken to Erie County Medical Centre, in Buffalo, with what was thought a the time to be life-threatening injuries.
His condition was later upgraded.On Thursday, 26-year-old Michael Ewings was charged with careless driving and driving a motor vehicle without a licence, contrary to the Highway Traffic Act of Ontario.
He will appear in court at a later date to answer to the charges.

The speed limit is 60 KLM if you wan’t to go faster take the QEW the tree was severely damaged and the man nearly lost his life, bad choices caused this accident.
