KILLJOY is a witty, unpredictable, romantic thriller, set to be the next crowd pleaser in Fort Erie.
The play’s author, Jerry Mayer, is well known for writing crisp and sparkling scripts for popular television sitcoms such as M*A*S*H and The Facts of Life.
The story of this “comedy of terrors” focuses on the humour and drama of a dysfunctional family.
Carol is divorced from the egocentric killjoy, Victor. He remarried a much younger, prettier woman and is still making the lives of Carol and their two adult children miserable. No wonder Carol dreams about killing him.
The plot thickens, plans are in the works, who is getting poisoned, can anything go wrong? Will Carol go through with her illicit conduct?
Director Dan Bennett has assembled a terrific cast; the popular GLT actors Valerie Winslow and Chuck Jagiello play Carol and Victor. Their children are portrayed by the talented James Reid and Kim Howard. Ryan Lunn, another GLT favourite, is the lawyer Rick and the “trophy” second wife is played by the returning-to-the-limelight Samantha Schlosser. Last but not least, the cast is completed by Father Mulcahy (as himself).
