The ladies from the 8-Week Challenge will be joining vendors and artists at the Niagara Falls Farmers’ Market, Saturday.
It’s a great opportunity for people to ask food-related questions, join in yoga and stretching, try out exercise equipment and enjoy free samples.
According to the plan’s website at http://8weekchallenge.com/, the Challenge isn’t a diet, but is a way to make changes to one’s lifestyle to “to fuel your body, move more, look lean, live healthier and love it!”
Along with tributes and success stories, the website also offers recipes and tips on creating corporate challenges.
The plan’s creators, Briar Krieger and Bonnie Giampa, owners of Balance Fitness Studio in Virgil, even invite challengers to join their Facebook page, https://www.facebook.com/8weekchallengeInc?fref=ts, to receive extra support and advice.
Project SHARE will also be on site Saturday, handing out scone samples made with strawberries donated by Devries Farms. The organization will be accepting food and cash donations, with all cash they receive being spent at the market.
The farmers’ market in Niagara Falls is open year-round, Saturdays from 6 a.m. to 1 p.m.
It’s located at 5943 Sylvia Place, behind the Niagara Falls History Museum. Although the market can currently accommodate about 20 vendors, expansion of the facility is part of the city’s medium- to long-range plans.
For more information, visit the city’s website at http://www.niagarafalls.ca/living/market/default.aspx, or the market’s Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/NiagaraFallsFarmersMarket?fref=ts.
Information about Project SHARE can be found at http://www.projectshare.ca/, or by calling 905-357-5121.
