NIAGARA FALLS – A 31-year-old Niagara Falls man suffered life-threatening injuries when he was struck by an out-of-control car while he was cutting grass, early Wednesday.
The accident happened around 6:58 a.m.
Niagara Regional Police say the victim was cutting grass along the south shoulder of Beaverdams Road when he was struck by a 1997 Fort Escort being operated by a 41-year-old Niagara Falls woman.
Police believe the woman lost control of the car when passing a bend in the road. The car crossed the centre lane of the road and onto the south shoulder.
The victim, whose name has not been released, suffered apparent life-threatening injuries and was transported to Erie County Medical Centre.
The driver of the car suffered minor injuries.
She was treated at Greater Niagara General hospital and released the same day.
The accident remains under investigation.
