Niagara Falls is ranked among the Top 10 places to spend the Canada Days holidays, according to a leading discount travel website.
Hotwire.com places Niagara Falls in the No. 8 spot this year.
Toronto is the most popular Canada Day destination again, followed by Vancouver and Ottawa.
“While some travellers are hopping over the border to visit big U.S. cities, the majority of them are taking advantage of low prices domestically to celebrate Canadian patriotism,” said Pierre-Etienne Chartier, vice-president of the Hotwire Group.
“Summer rates have been very good on discount sites like Hotwire, and with four out of the top five cities hosting local Canada Day festivities, visitors are sure to find a celebration at a price they’ll love.”
The top 10 most booked destinations for Canada Day and the average nightly hotel rates for each are as follows:
1. Toronto – $101
2. Vancouver – $114
3. Ottawa – $105
4. Montreal – $114
5. New York City – $170
6. Boston – $144
7. Chicago – $113
8. Niagara Falls – $110
