PORT COLBORNE – A pedestrian struck and killed by a car in Port Colborne, early Thursday, may have been lying down in the middle of the road.
Niagara Regional Police Const. Derek Watson tells Bullet News the male victim was struck by a car travelling southbound on Miller Road, between Townline Road and White Road, around 2:40 a.m.
“At this time we believe the male was lying in the middle of the road,” Watson said in a statement. Watson also noted the victim was wearing dark clothing at the time he was struck.
The name of the victim is not being released at this time as next-of-kin notification is underway.
The driver of the car was not injured.
The investigation is ongoing and more information may be released later in the day.
