WELLAND – A Welland man is facing break-and-enter and arson charges following a bizarre incident this past weekend.
On Sunday, Niagara Regional Police began investigating a reported break-in that occured at an undisclosed address in Welland.
During the break-in, the suspect set items in the home on fire.
Police say the homeowner was asleep at the time of the break-in but was not injured nor was the house damaged.
On Thursday, police arrested Gerrard Falle, of Welland.
Falle is charged with break and enter with intent, arson with disregard for human life, failing to comply with a probation order and possession of cocaine.
The accused was held in custody pending a bail hearing today.
