NIAGARA – Niagara Region is offering a special one-week curbside branch collection to assist Niagara residents in their cleanup efforts after this past weekend’s severe thunderstorms.
This special branch collection is available to all single residential households and apartments with six units or fewer. Residents can place their bundled branches at the curbside for collection on their regular garbage/recycling collection day during the week of July 29.
When setting out branches for collection it is important to remember:
* Branches must be tied in bundles
* Maximum weight of bundle = 22.7 kg (50 lbs.)
* Maximum size of bundle = 1.5 m (5 ft.) in length and 0.5 m (1.6ft.) in diameter
* Individual branches inside of bundle must not exceed 7 cm (2.8 in.) in diameter
* Branches must be at the curb by 7 a.m. on your designated collection day
In addition to the curbside branch collection, Niagara Region also offers free large item pickup and an unlimited amount of Green Bin organics collection. For the collection of large items such as furniture and carpets please call Emterra Environmental at 905-227-7771 or 1-855-227-7771 at least two working days prior to your regular garbage/recycling collection day.
