BEAMSVILLE – An early morning traffic stop lead to a drug seizure for Niagara Regional Police.
At approximately 2:10 a.m., police say they stopped a rental truck in Beamsville. The officer noticed a strong smell of marijuana. The driver was found to be in possession of 231 pounds of freshly cut marijuana plants.
The estimated street value of the drugs is more than $1 million.
Charged with one count of possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking is Guo Ding Lin, 36. The accused is being held pending a bail hearing in St. Catharines.
