ST. CATHARINES – Try something new – that’s the goal of the City’s second annual Recreation and Leisure Showcase, an event designed to give residents a taste of different recreational and cultural activities.
The showcase is on Saturday, Aug. 24 at the St. Catharines Kiwanis Aquatics Centre from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Residents will be able to try Forever Fit aquatics, Nordixx pole walking, puppet making, line dancing and more. All of the activities are free to try.
“An active lifestyle is part of a healthy lifestyle,” said Jennifer Douglas, community relations supervisor. “The Recreation and Leisure Showcase is about exposing people to activities they may have never heard of, or have wanted to try but never had the chance to.”
As part of the showcase residents can also enjoy free leisure swimming from 1 to 2 p.m. Regular admission and supervision requirements apply.
A full schedule of events is available at www.stcatharines.ca/recshowcase or by calling 905.688.5601 ext. 1800.
