NIAGARA FALLS – Is it a hoax, or a haunting? You decide.
A video making the rounds of the Internet yesterday purportedly shows a spectre passing behind a tour leader in an allegedly “haunted” attraction in the city.
Haunt Manor, located inside the Campark campgrounds at 9387 Lundy’s Lane, uploaded a 17-second video yesterday that shows something that can’t be identified in the shot. You can view the video above.
The company says its video is now going viral.
The property where the house is located was a battle site during the War of 1812, but is now used for a seasonal attraction – hayrides, haunted trail, cornmaze and nine “haunted” house tours.
It was during construction of this year’s attractions that the moment in question was caught on camera.
As Haunt Manor owner Phil Van Kleef is describing some of the history of the property during an interview, the camera captured what appears to be the faded image of a young girl passing by in the distance.
“I was editing the footage late one night after a busy day of construction. When I noticed the flash on the screen, I thought my eyes were playing tricks on me; I was so tired. It wasn’t until the next day, when I re-watched the footage, that I realized we just experienced something that was not normal,” Van Kleef said.” There was no one else in the barn with us. I’ve watched that footage at least 100 times now, and we still can’t explain it,” Van Kleef added.
