ST. CATHARINES – A Niagara man who was the subject of a Canadawide manhunt was picked up by Niagara Regional Police Service today while walking in St. Catharines.
John Crane was arrested Oct. 3 at 4 p.m. while walking down the street in the area of Carlton and Geneva streets, one day after police sought the public’s help in locating him.
According to police, Crane has more than 40 convictions, including multiple robbery convictions. He was serving the remainder of his third federal sentence at a St. Catharines half-way house when he buy viagra professional online failed to return.
Crane is now back in custody after police received several tips.
“The safety of the community is the responsibility of everyone,” said Niagara Regional Police Chief Jeff McGuire. “This is a prime example of the great things that can happen when the media, general public and community come together.
“Thank-you to all the people who called in with tips,” said McGuire.
