FORT ERIE – A woman was taken to a hospital in Buffalo suffering from serious injuries after being struck by a vehicle in a parking lot in Fort Erie.
The incident happened around 11:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
Police, firefighters and paramedics responded to Jarvis Street, near Courtwright Street, where they found the victim, whose injuries are considered non-life threatening.
The driver of the vehicle was arrested and charged a short time later.
Charged with dangerous operation causing bodily harm, impaired operation causing bodily harm, failure to stop at the scene of an accident and failing to provide a breath sample is 48-year-old David Visentin, of Fort Erie.
The name of the victim has not been released.
The incident remains under investigation by the #5 District Criminal Investigations Branch with assistance of the Collision Reconstruction Unit.
